A video of former Indian Army chief Ved Prakash Malik praising Pakistan's technology is going viral on social media. I hear him say:During Operation Sindoor, we did not cross each other's borders. Technology is so advanced that both countries have standoff weapons that can carry out attacks even far from their borders. Therefore, there are major technological advances being adopted in both countries. But undoubtedly Pakistan has better weapons and equipment. The destruction of the Rafael and S-400 systems is evidence of their superiority over India. Facilities need to be improved.

However, Fact Crescendo found the viral claim to be misleading. An original video by former Indian Army Chief General Ved Prakash Malik has been altered using AI. In the original video, General Malik did not praise Pakistan.

Fact check-

A search for related keywords on Google led to a tweet by PIB's handle X, which stated that the viral clip was created using AI.

In a tweet dated December 14, 2025, it said, “A Pakistani propaganda account is circulating an AI-generated video of former Indian Army Chief General Ved Prakash Malik, falsely claiming that he praised Pakistan and approved of the destruction of India's Rafale and S-400 systems.”

The tweet also said that such fabricated content is aimed at misleading the public and undermining confidence in India's defense capabilities. General Malik had no comments praising Pakistan.

Times Now reports that a video circulating online shows former Indian army chief Ved Prakash Malik praising Pakistan and claiming to acknowledge that India lost Rafale jets and other weapons. However, the video is a fake created using AI (deepfake). The video is part of a misinformation campaign spread by Pakistani user accounts. The claims in the video are completely false.

The same video can be seen in ANI's tweet on December 13, 2025. Vice President Malik in the video does not praise Pakistan. At the end of the video, he can be heard saying that India has better weapons and equipment than Pakistan.

Conclusion:

Fact Crescendo discovered that the viral clip was doctored and altered using AI. In the original video, General Malik did not praise Pakistan. He said India has better weapons and equipment than Pakistan.
