Meta introduces Edits, a mobile video creation app designed to streamline the video production process for creators. The app is now generally available and is targeted at content creators who want to produce and edit high-quality videos on their phones to share on a variety of platforms, not just Facebook and Instagram. The initial rollout followed a period of close collaboration and feedback from a select group of creators who tested the initial version.

Editing stands out with a variety of AI-powered video effects, such as those made possible by the new SAM 3 model. Users can apply effects like doodles, outlines, and glitter to specific people and objects, tag clothing, and blur items in footage. The app also debuts features such as Reels integration, which allows creators to remix and react to content from Meta's public Reels library with automatic credit to the original creator.

Title cards and storyboards provide structured planning and professional video titles, and an expanded library of text styles and fonts, including options for Indian languages, supports broader creative expression. Templates allow you to quickly assemble videos using common audio and visual cues.

Meta developed Edits to address the challenges faced by creators who often juggle multiple apps for different aspects of the video creation process. The app offers long-duration camera captures (up to 10 minutes), frame-accurate editing timelines, real-time data-driven insights, and watermark-free export options. Our efforts to further update Meta are shaped by ongoing community feedback, with collaboration tools, more creative assets, and advanced editing features planned for the future.
