82% of SMB leaders expect disruption as a result of generative AI, but still expect AI to become more efficient
Washington, April 27, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Clutch, the leading global marketplace for B2B service providers, today released the results of a survey of more than 500 US small business leaders, highlighting their sentiments about artificial intelligence and how they might see themselves in the next few years. The survey findings highlight how small businesses feel about AI, how they use it in their business practices today, and how they can expect to integrate AI further in the future. Key findings from the study include:
- 82% of small business leaders believe generative AI will disrupt their business in the next five years.
- 84% of SMBs currently using AI tools plan to continue using AI tools in the future.
- Business leaders shared three emotions about the rise of generative AI: excitement, optimism, and motivation.
- In contrast, less than 10% of small business leaders said they were overwhelmed, frightened, or worried about generative AI technology.
- Small businesses expect AI to increase the need for outsourced services, most rapidly occurring in these business functions: Engineering (83%), Sales and Customer Experience (78%), Marketing (77%) %). These technologies are embedded in ongoing business operations.
