First Deputy Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ali Akhmadov said at the 8th Congress of the Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation (ATUC) held today in Baku that the application of artificial intelligence (AI) will bring new meaning to the concepts of workers and workers, Trend Report reported.

He pointed out that Azerbaijan has developed a legal framework to protect workers' rights.

According to him, the protection of human rights, especially the rights of workers and ensuring social welfare, is considered an indicator of the development of any society and nation.

“In Azerbaijan, in addition to improving the social welfare of the people, important issues have been identified in the field of protection of labor rights of employees, and effective activities are being carried out to realize them.Protection of labor rights is a constant focus not only of the state but also of society. The adoption of a number of laws aimed at protecting labor rights by the Azerbaijani parliament has created a reliable legal basis for the protection of human and labor rights in the country.

Based on this legal framework, the Azerbaijani government is successfully carrying out its responsible task of protecting the labor rights of its citizens.

In order to meet new challenges, labor unions will be required to seriously revamp their activities in the future. Mass robotization and the application of artificial intelligence bring new content to the concepts of labor and workers. “We believe that we are already witnessing fundamental changes in the labor sector, and this will become even more evident in the future,” the official added.
