TOKYO, Dec. 16 (Jiji Press) — The Japanese government plans to build a new framework for cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence with five Central Asian countries, sources revealed.

This framework aims to strengthen economic security by utilizing AI in mineral resource development and supply chain construction.

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and the leaders of the five countries are expected to reach an agreement at a summit in Tokyo on Saturday. The framework will be included in a joint leaders' declaration, government officials said on Monday.

The declaration also includes the use of Japan's Official Development Assistance (ODA) to build infrastructure for a shipping route connecting Central Asia and Europe via the Caspian Sea.

Through this initiative, Japan aims to facilitate logistics by supporting the introduction of cargo inspection equipment at customs and improving the skills of customs officials, thereby contributing to the economic growth of Central Asia.
