AI becomes everyday colleague in Israeli high-tech sector

AI News

A new study released Tuesday by the Israel Innovation Authority shows that artificial intelligence is already standard equipment in Israel’s high-tech workforce, reshaping the way people work while stirring up new fears about the future. A survey of more than 500 corporate and startup employees found that AI tools are no longer novel, but have become everyday companions for most industries.

According to the agency, 95% of employees now use AI tools on a regular basis, and 78% use them daily. Adoption rates were highest among employees ages 25 to 34, with 86% reporting daily use. Technical staff leverages AI for software development and problem-solving, while non-technical staff leverages AI for writing, research, and continuous learning.

AI is not just used for a single task here and there. Approximately 82% of daily users use it for three or more types of tasks, and a quarter are currently deploying it for six or more types of tasks. This study reveals how employees are incorporating AI into nearly every step of their workday.

The productivity numbers are staggering. Approximately 70% of respondents said AI has improved the quality of their deliverables, 50% said it has reduced their time, and 40% said AI tools have cut the time required for a particular task by more than half. Overall, approximately 75% of employees saw a noticeable increase in productivity.

The surge in efficiency comes with some anxiety. Concerns about job security are strongest among senior and experienced staff, with 37% of that group reporting high levels of anxiety about how AI will ultimately impact their career.
