The world's first “ai hypercar” isn't as bad as you think

We live in an interesting time. Artificial intelligence has become a major focus, and many Americans are worried about how fledgling technology will affect their livelihoods over the next few years.

Until now, we have not seen the widespread use of AI in car design. Several companies have been tinkering with this idea, such as leaning against AI to speed up the design process. But as far as we know, car sculptors have not lost their jobs to computers. At least, it's not yet.

So when we heard of Vittori, an American startup that claims to produce the world's first “AI hypercar,” we were skeptical. The first sketch looked promising, but in our minds we were unable to program the mind and soul that the car designer put into every project.

Today, Vitzuri made his unnamed hybrid hypercar debut in Miami. whelmed.

The company has specifically avoided mentioning the “AI” in official documents, but that's clear. Vittori says the vehicle uses “Future-Forward Technology” for its development and can only imagine what it means.

Designed in collaboration with Pininfarina, Vittori's new hypercar doesn't look bad. Especially the front end and overall profile have a McLaren GT shade in the DNA. The hexagonal grille is unique, with two large vents on either side just below the ultra slim headlights.

The backend is a bit busy. The dramatic, angular taillights surround the tip of the quad exhaust in the center of the bumper. A huge diffuser with vertical details runs to the base of the lights, with bronze accents surrounding the car, offsetting the task of a lovely deep blue paint. Vittori says the hypercar is roughly the same size as the Lamborghini Revuelto.

Even inside, it emits the main atmosphere of McLaren, with a vertical touchscreen on the center console, two air vents just above it, and a defined partition separating the driver and passengers. Behind the handle is a digital instrument cluster.

Vittori says the hypercar uses “a unique powertrain developed by Italtecnica.” Italian engineering companies have a history of building boncar engines. In this case, the Vittori is equipped with a 6.8-liter V-12 hybrid with a single electric motor on the front axle.

The total power is at 1,110 horsepower, but it takes an estimated 2.5 seconds for the hypercar to reach 62 mph. It's comparable to rivals as diverse as the Ferrari 849 Testarossa and Koenigsegg Jesko. We don't know the top speed yet, but Vitzuri promises it deserves a hypercar.

“Our dream was to create a beautiful, fast vehicle that evokes a sense of emotion and connection. We didn't want to create another supercar. We wanted to create something like a sculptural flight, like power at your fingertips. We tried to build a reality where performance, beauty, control and freedom exist in one car without compromising. – Carlos Cruz, founder and CEO of Vittori.

Vittori said the first prototype was running and driving. This means that it's at least closer to production than some of the other supercar startups we've seen. Production is scheduled to take place in Italy next year, with hypercars being limited to just 50 examples worldwide.

Prices will be announced at a later date, but don't expect anything from the $1 million South.
