Four AI tools on Android I actually use them.

Once you unlock your phone and BAM, you will be greeted by an AI widget that shows the weather. “OK Google,” he says, and Gemini is there. We create circular gestures on the screen, Voila, and to our surprise, we get information about anything we stare at.

We are surrounded by AI tools, so we often trip over and over, even if it doesn't even have any meaning. So instead of resisting AI, I have relied on it – and how! In recent experiments, I couldn't even survive for a few days without my favorite AI tools.

Here is something I actually use and can't live without it.

Let's start with the good ones:

If you remember Google on TAP now, you can easily reach my favorite people list. Circle to Search is basically its transformation. It's a smarter, AI-powered version that allows you to read the screen, but it has more talent. If you have a phone with a stylus, that's even better.

I press the home bar long and circle the images and text I'm looking at, and Google looks it up for me. Simple. It's like a smart, frictionless tool that makes you want to use AI, and it doesn't provide any power. Now it's one of my favorite additions to Android these days.

I'm a typer – in case my profession hasn't given it yet. But it's a real keyboard, the kind that my 10 fingers can slide. Entering a long message with your thumb might have looked cool in the Blackberry era, but tapping on a glass screen doesn't exactly qualify as “typing” in my book.

That's why I prefer voice typing. And there's no better tool than Gboard. It not only understands the unique way I pronounce certain words with Indian accents, but also nails other languages ​​that speak with amazingly good accuracy. In English, go back, add emojis, break, and correct mistakes. It all guides me with voice commands. Honestly, that's not going to be any better than this.

When I'm in the executives of events and interviews, I don't care about flashy recording devices anymore. My pixels handle it all and are better. The audio quality never disappointed me, but it's a live transcript where I am a huge fan. It's like real life subtitles and is very useful when someone is talking with accents I don't follow.

The conversation here can slip between two or more languages, and Google handles it with ease. And the best part is that you don't have to sit through a 50-minute recording when you get home. Simply search for the transcript, search for what you need, then throw it to Gemini to pull out a summary or keypoint.

Google Photos' Magic Editor has moved past what it was just an eraser tool. It's powerful enough to make you doubt what the photo is anymore. But when it comes to personal photography, I prefer not to like being too philosophical. Sometimes I just want the best version of Instagram photos.

And this tool makes it possible for people like me who have never been exposed to Photoshop. It helped rescue so many photos where my expression was perfect (something like that!), but random things in the background were killing the atmosphere. The Magic Editor intervenes like a seasoned ER document to store its unusual photos.

You can also keep things moving perfectly, but I find it a bit. I'm usually stuck with more minor cleanups with generative fills, so my amateur editing doesn't look like a smappy Photoshop job since 2009.

The AI ​​image feels that it is nauseous enough with its artifacts and strange errors. Google, Samsung, nothing – everyone is trying to inject AI into every app you can think of, and no need for these AI wallpaper apps. They waste calculations and, frankly, feel like they're slapping the face on a real artist, whether they're photographers or abstract wallpaper designers.

I would rather have a carefully selected wallpaper to click with me than some AI slops manufactured with magic wands in 10 seconds.

Get weather alert points in notifications. They are quick and glansable strings of text. However, when opening the actual Weather app, I don't want to see long, messy writing. I want cold and hard data – everything is visualized.

Our brains are already trained and quickly scan numbers, icons and charts to understand what days and weeks look like. It's much faster than reading a cute (read: useless) sentence, saying, “It's a good day to carry an umbrella.” No joke – it's raining. If Google removes these summaries from your Pixel device, I'm not mourning.

I know it's starting to sound like it has grum in the summary. But listen to me.

Ask Gemini to summarise the Open Chrome tab and you get a neat little point. It's useful when you're in a hurry, but it removes so many nuances. For example, to summarise this work, you'll see a list of tools I like and dislike. But that's why I feel strongly about these reasons and how strongly I feel.

If you're not someone who enjoys reading, you probably won't mind. But for those of us who have something for the word, these summaries feel like betrayal. You cannot look into the writer's mind. AI is something I can't do for me.

So did you find a pattern? The AI ​​features I don't like are those that are trying to become part of the workflow. I can smell their despair and I run the opposite way. But what is actually useful? They slip into your life so naturally that you rarely notice until you try to live without them.
