Adobe adds Luma, Runway and Marey AI videos to Firefly, AI XR Glasses Sales Surge

Adobe has added generated videos to Firefly Boards and integrated Marey models from Luma AI's Ray3, Runway's Aleph and Moonvalley into a collaborative mood board tool. The board is available in over 30 countries, but access to video features requires a Firefly Premium Plan or a Creative Cloud subscription with a generated credit. Paid plans start at $9.99 a month with 2,000 credits, with the higher tier offering more capacity. Video generation is credit-intensive, so the lower layers can only cover a handful of short clips. Adobe also explained images, visual presets, and text editing within images, speeding up concepts and iterations within the board.

According to a survey by CounterPoint, consumer demand remained weak, resulting in a 14% decline in the first half of 2025 compared to the previous year. Meta maintained a market share of around 80% despite declining volumes. A new model scheduled for 2026 may change that. AR Smart Glasses showed a previous trend of 50% led by Reineo, Ville and XREAL. Birdbath-style video glasses constituted a 78% shipment, while the high-priced see-through waveguide model will win 17% and are expected to grow alongside new products like Meta's upcoming Ray-Ban display. Counterpoint forecasts a 69% CAGR for AR smart glasses by 2027 as key technicians invest in hardware and expand their use cases.

Meta has installed HyperSpace. This is a new tool that allows Quest 3 and 3S users to scan the real interior and convert it to 3D digital replicas of VR. The currently beta system uses a headset camera to capture space in minutes, but outdoor scanning is not yet supported. Only users over the age of 18 can participate in the rollout using compatible headsets. Early examples show interiors like celebrity living rooms, but Meta doesn't reveal how pricing or features are monetized.

Apple has doubled Vision Pro's immersive content and is unveiling new slates of “immersive films” from partners such as MotoGP, Red Bull, BBC, CNN, Hybe, Canal+, and Apple itself. Currently, two titles are MotoGP documentaries, a new episode of Apple TV App: Apple Immersive and Tour de Force on Vision Pro, available via new episodes produced on Canal+. Upcoming releases include the Red Bull Freeski Experience, a BBC Prom Concert in VR, and a Wildlife and Climate documentary.

Leonardo.ai has started Leonardo Imagination Foundationa $50,000 microgrant program that supports five creative projects across film, fashion, art, architecture and design. One grant is reserved for Australian creators to highlight local talent. Panels such as filmmaker Alex Proyas, monk co-founder Michael Dobel, and curious lub-risty shelter co-founder Shelter Shelby Ward will select the winners. Leonardo.ai's Creative Dwyane Koh head said the initiative was intended to give artists the freedom to experiment with AI and “push the boundaries of creativity.” Applications are currently open and winners are expected to be announced later this year.
