At the Axios AI+ DC Summit on Wednesday, humanity co-founders Dario Amodei and Jack Clark are CEOs and policy directors respectively, but said that the possibility that AI could cause work evacuation is being rapidly picked up.
“Like most things, when the index moves so quickly, you're not sure,” Amodei said at the event. “You think it's enough to feel that we need to warn the world about it and be honest about it.”

Amodei said that government intervention could be required to support individuals whose occupations are displaced by AI, and Clark emphasized that humanity will predict a significant “scale of confusion” in society through AI within the next five years.
“We need to take some kind of policy response,” Clark said. I said.

Humanity raised $13 billion earlier this month at a valuation of $183 billion. The AI startup released a report earlier this week, suggesting that AI has the “potential” to drive away workers. Most companies using Claude, a chatbot, were automating tasks rather than helping people achieve them. Claude had 30 million active users each month worldwide as of the second quarter of this year.
“This could also lead to disruption in the labor market given clear automation patterns in business deployment,” the report said.

Meanwhile, Amodei previously spoke about the possibility of AI replacing human work. In March, he said that AI will take over writing corporate code within the next year. In May, he predicted that AI would wipe out half of entry-level white-collar jobs within the next five years, and unemployment would rise to 20%.
And he is not alone in issuing warnings. Geoffrey Hinton, known as the godfather of AI, said in June that AI will “replace everyone” with a white-collar job because of its pioneering work creating technology. He predicted that people and AI assistants will take over 10 jobs.
Hinton suggested that paralegal and call centre representatives would be replaced by the first role. He added that it takes a little time to master physical labor, so “a good bet is to become a plumber.”
