Ahlulbayt News Agency (ABNA): The Assam branch of India's dominant Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is facing an increase in criticism after releasing an artificial intelligence-generated video that has been widely accused of being socially divided with Islamophobia.
The video, titled “Assam without Bharatiyajanata Party,” depicts Muslims with exaggerated numbers occupying airports, stadiums and other public facilities. Furthermore, Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Indian National Congress and opposition head of Lok Sabah, who is linked to Pakistani officials, is an unspoken attempt to link his rival party to India's historic enemy.
This release caused strong condemnation. Asaddin Owaisi, a member of Hyderabad's parliament and leader of all India's Majlis e Ithadur Muslims, has accused the BJP of promoting Hindu nationalist extremism and seeking “Muslim-free India.” Civil society activists and journalists reflected these concerns, and such content encouraged fear and hatred towards Muslims, threatened social cohesion and at risk of inflamming community tensions.
Similar videos are reportedly being distributed in other Indian states, and Muslims have been accused of seizing their homes and public property. Critics argue that these cases reveal a troubling pattern of Islamophobia that was unfolded for election advantage. Observers warn that such tactics risk damaging India's democratic fabric and will damage years of efforts to maintain pluralism and social harmony in the world's largest democracy.
