Eight in 10 (77%) of all respondents stated that the fear of losing control over AI systems and the outcome of their work is a concern within the organization.
Nine in 10 (85%) employers believe Canadians don't really understand or are not confident about how public services develop and use AI.
“As public sector employees adopt AI tools to implement employment responsibilities, public sector organizations need to accelerate the deployment of formal AI adoption policies,” said Michael Klubal, national leader in infrastructure, government and healthcare at KPMG in Canada. “Our research highlights the need for strong governance, monitoring and in-depth training to deploy responsible AI adoption and embed best practices. This approach not only protects public trust and data, but also balances innovation and accountability.”
According to previous surveys, only 7% of Canadian technical leaders believe their organizations are making progress in implementing AI.
