Patna HC orders Congress to remove AI video of PM Modi's mother – IndiaNews

AI Video & Visuals

On Wednesday, Patna High Court directed Congress to remove AI-generated videos depicting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother Heylaven Modi from all social media platforms. A video shared by Bihar Congress about X was captioned with the video “Sahab Ke Sapno Mein AayiMaa. Dekhiye Rochak Samvaad” (mother appeared in Sahab's dream. Watch the interesting interaction).

The clip portrayed the look of a Modi going to bed after allegedly engaged in “voting stealing.” In his dream, a woman resembling his late mother olds him for exploiting her name for political purposes. The Congress defended the Post and argued that it was a satirical view of the Prime Minister's politics.

This video sparked anger within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Leaders accused Congress of laughing at the Prime Minister's late mother, claiming that the move was coordinated under the influence of the leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi. The BJP argued that using AI-generated content to target personal and family issues is beyond ethical boundaries within political discourse.

The controversy arises just two months before the Bihar Assembly election. Both the National Democratic Union (NDA) and the India Bloc are bolstering their campaigns, with rallying being held statewide. The use of artificial intelligence in political messaging raised fresh questions about ethics and accountability during election season.

This is a broken story. More information will be added soon…
