Dubai has launched a 10-day programme that will encourage the attendance of 50 chief directors of 50 artificial intelligence officers from both federal and local to become involved in some of the most prominent technology companies in the United States.
The delegation will engage in dialogue with senior executives and experts from industry leaders, including Google, Meta, Openai, Palantir, Nvidia, IBM, Amazon, and Microsoft.
Authorities say the visit is aimed to directly expose UAE representatives to cutting-edge innovation and best practices, while also fostering international partnerships that enhance government efficiency and future preparation.
The program includes meetings with innovation hubs and AI experts to identify opportunities for collaboration.
On September 14th, the visit was organized by the AI, Digital Economy and Remote Work Application Office, along with the AI Center.
This initiative is consistent with Dubai's efforts to promote AI integration in both government and business frameworks, as envisaged in UAE Vision 2031, as it aims to establish the country as one of the world's most sophisticated digital economies.
Furthermore, the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, launched in 2017 under the Centennial 2071 Initiative, aims to position the country as a global core of AI and future core sectors.
Omar Al Olama, Minister of State for AI, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, clearly demonstrates that this latest initiative represents a commitment to embrace next-generation digital solutions and fostering global collaboration.
The delegation also represents a new structural framework approved by the UAE Cabinet, chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the vice president and ruler of Dubai.
This strategic move comes amid a global surge in AI. This is becoming increasingly crucial for decision-making, service delivery and sustainable competitiveness.
Earlier this year, Crown Prince Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed required the introduction of Dubai AI Seal, a certification framework for companies that employ AI ethically. Six-level certifications (e, d, c, b, a, and s) are awarded to companies demonstrating influential operations within Dubai's AI economy, with S showing the highest tier.
The new service is expensive and designed for businesses that have been tested to engage in AI-related consulting, development, infrastructure, integration and auxiliary services.
Additionally, the Emirates announced the Dubai AI Index and benchmarked global cities for their ability to embrace AI, with the establishment of the Dubai AI Academy aimed at providing specialized skills to young professionals and government officials.
By 2031, Dubai envisions extensive integration of AI across all sectors of government, commercial and social, from public services to economic diversification.
