The University of California, San Diego announced it Karsten Theil Hansen He was named the first recipient of Corporate Governance Duane A. Nelles Jr. Endowed Chair.
The chair was established with funding from a will pledge from Ernest and Evelyn Rady, a gift from Qualcomm Inc. and additional funding from a will pledge from Evelyn Rady. Rady School of Management Dean's discretionary fund. Named in honor of Duane A. Nelles Jr.'s service on Qualcomm's Executive Committee, the chair was established to recruit and maintain the Rady School of Management, supporting education and research. The donated chair is one of the most prestigious honors given to faculty, whose innovative work leads their field, influences our dynamic campus community, and recognizes professors that will change our world.
“Doned chairs are a powerful way to recognize excellence and invest in the future of academic leadership,” said Lisa Ordoñes, dean of the Radie School. “We are proud to be appointed Chairman of Corporate Governance, named after Duane A. Neres Jr.'s inaugurated committee chair. His groundbreaking work in machine learning and artificial intelligence exemplifies the innovative, interdisciplinary work of the Radie School of Management.
