WhatsApp is rolling out a new AI (AI) feature that allows users to create any background during video calls.
According to GADGETS360the new features are available for both Android and iOS versions of Instant Messaging apps.
According to the company, the new feature does not mention the name of the AI model, but it does have meta AI. The background generation feature is available along with other existing options, such as background blur and adding preset background options.
In X's post, WhatsApp's official handle announced a new feature on Monday. Emphasizing that the company has added some new effects to photos and videos shared with others, the meta-owned platform says it is introducing new AI tools for video calls.
This new feature, known as background generation, can only be seen after a user has started a video call (after the recipient has received the call).
Previously, users had the option to blur the background and choose from a limited set of preset backgrounds during video calls.
However, now there is a new icon with images and sparkling symbols next to the blurred background option. When the user swipes to options, a badge with the text “Create with AI” pops up above it.
