Hyderabad: At the 48th Annual Meeting, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), announced the creation of Reliance Intelligence, a new, all-owned subsidiary that houses India's next-generation AI infrastructure.
“Artificial intelligence is already at the heart of Reliance's transformation into a deep technology company,” Mukesh Ambani added that the new company will house global partnerships, build AI services for India and develop AI talent.
“Reliance Intelligence is committed to providing AI to all Indians,” he further said.
As part of Vision, Reliance has also announced the overall AI partnership to build “large world-class assets” on Google and Google's leading cloud and AI technologies. We also announced Meta, an AI joint venture centered on India, and combined open models and tools to provide sovereign enterprise-ready AI for India.
Reliance Intelligence, AI-centric Reliance subsidiary
Reliance Intelligence will take on the construction of a gigawatt-scale AI-enabled data center equipped with green energy and designed for training and reasoning nationwide, the company's AGM said.
“Work has already begun at Gigawatt-scale AI-enabled data centres in Jamnagar. These facilities will be delivered to India's growth needs, featuring Reliance's new energy ecosystem and custom-made AI training and inference,” Ambani said.
He added that Reliance Intelligence will provide reliable, easy-to-use AI services tailored for consumers, small businesses and businesses. He said the initiative will also provide solutions to key national sectors, including education, healthcare and agriculture. The service is largely reliable and affordable for all Indians, he said.

“Reliance Intelligence has created a home for world-class researchers, engineers, designers and product builders, combining the speed of research with the rigour of engineering, and has led ideas to become innovation and applications, providing solutions to India and the world,” he said.
Partnership with AI Meta and Google
The announcement of the AI-centric partnership between Google and Meta at AGM comes with separate addresses of Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
With Google Partnership, Reliance Intelligence can set up an AI-Reaid data center with computing power from Google, energy support from RIL, and connectivity support from Reliance Jio.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai said the AI opportunities in India are extraordinary. He explained that Google and Reliance will help transform all Reliance businesses through the use of AI across sectors such as energy, retail, telecommunications and financial services.
“To support this AI adoption, we have established a dedicated Jamnagar Cloud region built for Reliance, which is powered by Jio's Advanced Network, due to dependency and computing from Google Cloud,” said Sundar Pichai, Google CEO.
RIL's India-centric AI joint venture (JV) will promote the construction and scaling of AI solutions for Indian companies and select international markets. Under the JV agreement, RIL and META are jointly committed to an initial investment of Rs 855 to capitalize the JV at a 70:30% ratio.

“Meta and Reliance help to promote work by providing open source AI models to Indian companies. LAMA has seen how AI can amplify human potential, increase productivity, increase creativity and drive innovation.
A few years ago, the Jio platform raised around Rs 1,52,056 from 13 marquee investors, including Facebook (now Meta) and Google, and considered a 32.9% stake. Google had acquired a 7.7% stake in the Mukesh Ambaniped Jio platform of 33,737 crore, while Zuckerberg-led Facebook (now Meta) acquired a 9.99% stake for Rs 43,574.
Autonomous Systems and Robotics
Reliance also announced its interest in autonomous systems and AI-powered robotics. “Intelligent automation will turn factories into adaptive production systems, warehouses into automated driving supply chains, and hospitals into precision care centers,” says Mukesh Ambani.
“We are investing in making India a leader in AI-powered human-centric robotics, creating new kinds of industries and services, new kinds of agriculture, new kinds of jobs and new opportunities that are attractive to young people,” added RIL Chairman.
According to Ambani, the deep technology breakthroughs of artificial intelligence and alliances have brought productivity, efficiency and human potential to unimaginable levels.
He outlined how the convergence of three powerful technological transformations, clean energy, genomics, and AI breakthroughs is transforming the global narrative into one of super-discount and ultra-affordable.
Ambani said it is developing AI as a new engine for growth, in addition to integrating all its businesses. He said that all of their ventures have become AI natives and positioned them for rapid expansion. He also said their operating model is currently driven by innovation rather than capital strength.
