(P&GJ) – Coastal Bend LNG will use the Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology from the US-based Start-Up ClassVi.ai to prepare a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) permit application for planned liquefaction and export facilities along the Gulf Coast.
FERC applications require multiple exhibits covering project capabilities, environmental impact assessment, engineering design, and community engagement planning. Classvi.ai's neurosymbolic AI software is designed to prepare content that meets these requirements.
Nick Flores, CEO of Coastal Bend LNG, said: “AI streamlines internal processes and allows teams to focus on community engagement and operational excellence.”
ClassVi.ai CEO Eric Redmond said the company's tools “are aimed at removing administrative burdens from the energy infrastructure, allowing companies such as Coastal Bend LNG to focus on delivering high-quality results for all stakeholders.”
Coastal Bend LNG is expected to begin the FERC pre-filing process in 2025. All filings are reviewed by energy regulation practices from Skadden, ARPS, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.
