Netizens are sharing a video where parts of the Skyway appear to have collapsed after a strong earthquake. No such collapse occurred, and the clips were generated via artificial intelligence (AI).

On August 8, a Facebook user in the Philippines posted an 11-second video that responded to at least two clips indicating the new “Skyway Bridge” was collapsing. The video featured text:

“The Skyway Bridge suddenly collapses (sic).”

Video recordings of users responding to clips have been overlaid in the lower right corner. The person said:

Nakakahadlok Ito ng Mga Pangyairi Mga Idol. Grabe Tingnan Niyo Mga Idol. 'Yung Bagong Gawa na tulay bila na lang natumba sa malakas na linog. Grabe na ito (These are horrifying events, idols. Some netizens in the comments section interpreted it as indicating the Metro Manila Skyway, while others speculated that the video was fake.
