Jason Bressler of UWM encourages brokers to use AI

Applications of AI

Bressler admitted that he changed the script to a speaking session at Housing Wire's 2025 The Gathering about 20 minutes before he took to the stage. why? He noticed fellow speakers who had “deceived” about the industry's rapid mergers and acquisition activities.

“I changed that. Every presenter who came before me… this is a festival of love, everything is so amazing, and all these mergers and acquisitions are amazing,” he said. “And I was like, 'What are you talking about?'

Instead, during a Bressler speaking session called “The CTO Playbook,” he told the audience that he viewed the use of AI as a form of “empowerment” and “protection.”

On Tuesday's stage at the AI Summit in Dallas, Bressler chose to use his platform to address concerns about M&A activities while reflecting the same sentiment.

He warned that massive mergers and acquisitions are “not good for our industry.”

“Mergers and acquisitions always follow the same standards and rules,” he said. “The first [that] An ecosystem is created. That ecosystem benefits only the people within the ecosystem.

“Second, people are let go, and then thirdly, the ecosystem is officially on the rise, and anyone who wants to play in the ecosystem is allowed as long as they play with the rules of the ecosystem, and those rules are never in the advantage of those who want to enter.”

Bressler has linked concerns about M&A to a forceful message about artificial intelligence.

Brokers must protect control and independence, Bressler said. His core advice for brokers who want to stay competitive is to avoid relying solely on technology provided by vendors, including UWM, and instead learn the basics of AI to protect and enhance your business.

“Controll your own destiny,” he said. “You can learn what AI really is and use it to your advantage and make a call once you hear the BS.”

Bressler urged audiences to work with AI tools chatgpt Test workflow tests and create feedback loops for decision-making as a “second brain” that allows you to upload business history. He added that building effective agents is now cheap and fast.

“Don't make a faster horse,” Bressler said, citing Henry Ford. “Rethinking the workflow. That's what agents can do for you.”
