Google's Gen AI Skillup

Machine Learning

Gen AI Skillup is an educational initiative by Google that anyone can learn how to use Generated AI.

Google follows Openai's footsteps. Last April and “Openai Academy Makes AI Accessible” we looked into one more such initiative, but it was filmed by Openai. Its mission was to provide:

A treasure trove of information to spread knowledge about AI to the public. Learn to understand what AI is and how to use tools like ChatGPT to make use of it.

Neither age restrictions nor prerequisites were required to pay to participate in the academy. Everyone was very welcome.

Now it's Google's turn to move along these lines. AI skill-up shares the same purpose as Openai's academy.
However, it focuses on using Google tools such as Vertex and Gemini. However, the vendor's neutral background and Genai basics are taught, so whether you're using Google products or not, you still get value.

To accommodate a wide range of audiences, the content is split into learning paths.

Introducing the Generated AI Learning Path
For beginners to get an overview of the concepts of generative AI, from the fundamentals of LLMS to responsible AI principles.

Gemini from Google Cloud Learning Path
Intermediates to learn how Gemini can improve the efficiency of various technical roles, such as developers, data analysts, cloud engineers and more.

Developer Learning Path Generation AI
It focuses on app developers, machine learning engineers and data scientists technically.

Deploy and manage generated AI models
Again, developers get a comprehensive introduction to Machine Learning Operations (MLOPS);
It focuses on generator AI.

So, in beginner's materials, you'll find the basics behind Genai and LLMS, and your hands will be “dirty” with your quick design with Vertex AI.

The next step in Ladder, a Gemini in Google Cloud Learning Path, addresses all kinds of engineer developers, data analysts, cloud engineers, architects and security engineers when using Gemini's natural language chat interface to ask questions, coding, API calls, data analytics and more.

Next, the generator AI for developers learning paths digs into “real” AI/ML materials. It makes it clear by glimpses of the covered lessons:

  • Image generation
  • Caution mechanism
  • Encoder decoder architecture
  • Trans and BERT models
  • Create an image caption model
  • Introducing Vertex AI Studio
  • Vector search and embed
  • Inspect a wealth of documents with Gemini Multimodality and Multimodal Rag
  • Responsible AI for developers
  • Machine Learning Operations for Generated AI (MLOPS)

And finally, deployment and management of the generated AI model path is managing the entire lifecycle of the generated AI model, from development and deployment to monitoring. It includes practical labs using vertex AI.

To put that together, we are deeply encouraging that big guns are dealing with developers for free by teaching them how to use genai. Certainly, that extent includes its own promotional tools, but it does not distort large-scale attempts.
