Amazon amzn We have reached a deal to buy a San Francisco-based honeybee. This is a startup that makes artificial intelligence-enabled bracelets, listening to conversations and transcribing them.

Bee's $50 wristbands can be analyzed and distilled through what you've recorded to create a summary, to-do list, or other task. Amazon confirmed its contract on Tuesday following a post on LinkedIn by Bee CEO and co-founder Maria de Lourdes Zollo.

The transaction has not yet ended and Amazon refused to provide terms. A spokesperson said Amazon will work with Bee to allow users to control more devices. It is set to automatically transfer audio, but can be muted.

“We imagined a world where AI is truly personal and your life is understood and enhanced by the technology you learn with you,” Zollo said in her post. She did not respond to questions immediately on Tuesday.

It wasn't Amazon's first foray into wearables. An online retailer in Seattle sold a line of wrist health trackers called Halo, but in 2023 they eventually killed the project. There is also a line of smart glasses embedded with Amazon's virtual assistant Alexa under the Echo brand.
