Cranberry, New Jersey (July 17, 2025) – App Builder, a low-code platform for app creation software company Infragistics, has released a second part of its findings from the two-part 2025 APP Development Trends report. The survey reveals that nearly 90% of tech leaders use AI in app development, and expect developers to have a matching skill set. Almost three-quarters of technology leaders (71%) say AI and machine learning skills are inborious for developers to employers. More than cloud computing skills, 53% say the same thing.
App Builder's 2025 App Development Trends Report explores how companies are currently integrating AI into their development workflows, revealing the impact of new and new tools on both application development and security. This new study is divided into how AI tools shape team structures, influence employment priorities, and influence changes in overall organizational strategies.

The AI-holding development team says that almost half (45%) of companies that currently do not use AI in their app development process are likely to begin adopting the technology within a year.

Most businesses rely on AI to protect their apps. 45% (45%) of technology leaders say cybersecurity is their biggest challenge. Almost every company using AI in app development (99%) uses technology to enhance security by implementing security ratings (64%), test codes (60%), detection of violation patterns (59%), and scan codes for vulnerabilities (58%).

Teams offload daily development tasks to AI. Developers are primarily looking for AI, automating common, repetitive tasks (40%), creating layouts and pages (34%), and detecting bugs (32%). 30% (30%) of technology leaders say the automation is focusing on more strategic work by releasing developers, highlighting the possibility that AI could remove more plates and increase its role.

Hiring qualified developers is one of the biggest challenges for technology leaders. Due to the high demand for AI and machine learning skills, 30% of technology leaders say that recruited developers and IT staff are one of the biggest challenges of 2025.
