On Wednesday, China's Baidu began major upgrades to AI-driven video generators for businesses and search engines.

The image-to-video model called MuseSteamer can generate videos up to 10 seconds, and comes in three versions: Turbo, Pro and Lite.

Over the past year, artificial intelligence heavyweights such as Openai and large global technology companies have expanded beyond chatbots to text-to-video or image-to-video generators. In China, Tencent and Alibaba have also launched models.

Many rival products, including Openai's SORA, are targeted at targeted consumers on subscription plans, while Baidu's MuseStreamer is only aimed at business users and the consumer app is not yet available.

Search engine overhaul includes a redesigned search box that accepts long queries and supports audio and image-based search. The platform also uses Baidu's AI technology to display more targeted content.

Baidu faces pressure as AI-based chatbots like Bytedance's Doubao and Tencent's Yuanbao become more popular.
