Haique Startup and The Applied Sciences of UCU have begun subscribing to the third batch of Quantum Machine Learning Summer School. How to participate

Machine Learning

The Department of Applied Sciences at the Catholic University of Ukraine and quantum startup Haique have begun enrolling for its annual Quantum Machine Learning School. Who can participate in the training?

The Summer School will be held at LVIV's UCU campus from July 28th to August 2nd. We bring together students from their third to fourth years and graduates of physics and mathematics, engineering and computer science majors to lay the foundations for understanding quantum computing in this domain and encouraging development.

The press release notes that training includes both theoretical and practical parts, allowing students to practice developing algorithms based on Qiskit and Pennylane. No prior knowledge of quantum mechanics or quantum computing is required. The program is suitable for beginners with intensive immersion.

The Summer School lecturers and mentors are Ukraine, US and European researchers and quantum engineers, including Haique Startup's CTO and co-founder Mykola Maksymenko, director of UCU Business School's Technology Management Program.

With limited number of locations, registrations are competitive. It is important that participants have a solid foundation in linear algebra, probability theory, statistics, machine learning, and Python programming.. The language of instruction is English .

Although registration fees are included for participation in the Summer School, scholarships cover research and accommodation registration fees on the UCU campus.

  • The top 10 applicants will receive scholarships from Haique and SoftServe. Not only veterans, but the most motivated applicants will be given priority.
  • Five scholarships from Infinity Technologies support students in Ukraine's frontline cities.

«The two topics that have already influenced my research and my doctoral dissertation are quantum neural networks (QNN) and Quantum approximate optimization algorithms (QAOA). Thanks to school, I not only learned how to implement quantum neural networks on real quantum computers, but I also saw the possibilities in combination with the quantum internet. I am currently working on a project to analyze drone flight trajectories and interception strategies using quantum algorithms »

Applicants for scholarship support must present this on the registration form and provide recommendations from the scientific supervisor.

  • Early Bird Registration Fee (Until June 25th) – 10,000 UAH.
  • Regular registration fee (until July 17th) – 20,000 UAH.

Upon completion of the course, students will receive three credit certificates from the Catholic University of Ukraine. Registration is available through the link.

Remember, in May this year, the Google Startup Fund in Ukraine nominated 30 startups that receive up to $100,000 in funding. The list includes teams who create products related to artificial intelligence, quantum computing, education, healthcare and more.
