The city of Oshawa is partnering with an AI-powered funding search engine to enable local businesses to identify and access financial aid.

The new tools now available through the city's website will allow Oshawa-based companies to search for relevant government and private sector funding opportunities tailored to their needs.

Oshawa has partnered with Fundica to launch a search tool in response to ongoing global trade challenges and economic uncertainties.

“We heard loudly and clearly from local businesses that navigating the funding landscape is overwhelming, especially in the face of global economic challenges,” Mayor Dan Carter said. “This partnership with Fundica is to help Oshawa entrepreneurs, employers and innovators access the support they need to grow and succeed.”

The initiative was shaped by recent inputs received through business maintenance and expansion programs and conversations for Oshawa Economic Development through local economic development and expansion programs and conversations that he met with economic development teams such as Carter and Tito Dante Maripietri, who chair the Economic Development Committee.

Employers have communicated to them the need for simple, centralized tools to navigate fundraising opportunities, particularly amidst the challenges posed by US tariffs and changing global markets.

In addition to launching the Fundica Tool, the city's economic development team continues to meet with local businesses to better understand how tariffs and other market conditions are affecting their businesses.

“When launching this new search engine, we equip local job creators with the tools they need to confidently navigate fundraising opportunities,” Marimietri said. “This initiative reflects an unwavering commitment to supporting businesses, promoting investment and securing Oshawa, and remains a chosen city for innovation and economic growth.”

Companies are encouraged to fill out an online form to request a site visit and explore additional resources on the city's customs webpage.
