Google is spinning the Veo 3 AI video creation engine with a speed-up version called Veo 3 Fast. Both Gemini Pro and Flow users can access the faster VEO 3 models. This generates 720p video at more than twice the speed of previous iterations.
Gemini Pro users will acquire three daily video generations using VEO 3 as part of their subscription. Google Flow Pro users on Google's creative platform can now generate 20 credits on each high-speed video. This is much less than the cost of previous 720p video. Of course, Gemini Ultra subscribers earn far more on subscriptions per 250 months.
However, Google Veo 3 Fast doesn't just reduce latency for rushed video makers. This is part of expanding Google's AI video infrastructure, allowing you to use the tools simultaneously without having to wait too long.
Josh Woodward, who oversees Google's Gemini and Labs, outlined plans to incorporate better subtitle rendering and smoother playback as a result of the improved video creation infrastructure represented by Google Veo 3 Fast.
It's also convenient to create videos faster and more efficiently. This is to facilitate the incorporation of additional features. Google is already using voice prompts to test between images. Instead of typing the prompt, you can say “turn this selfie into a supercomputer-starring soap opera,” and Gemini offers a low-resolution clip of “Clay of Our Life.”
Companies can also generate and participate in internal update videos and onboarding materials without filming anything.

Google Veo 3 Fast is also in line with Google's strategy for integrating AI tools into everything it offers its customers. Injecting AI features like VEO into Gemini will attract new consumers and increase usage among existing customers, they won't need new products quarterly.
Of course, the Veo 3 Fast is not perfect. Topping at 720p makes the resolution snob a bit cooler, and better subtitles aren't the same as perfect or subtle subtitles. Words can be misunderstood, and like those who speak ironically or use sarcasm, those emotional cues in parentheses can challenge AI to interpret accurately from time to time.
Still, it's much cheaper to try the model again. Three videos a day means you don't have to be valuable about your first idea. Test and experiment with prompts and editing to get the video in any way you need it.
VEO 3 Fast doesn't promise a Hollywood trailer with just two clicks, but it's guaranteed to take time to stare at the progress bar and test out the wildest video creation ideas. It's like actually filming a scene before using models or miniatures.
