As employment roles continue to evolve with new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), analytics and cloud, 70% of current worker respondents express confidence in their preparation for the evolving job roles in the future.
This optimism is driven by both mandated organizational programs and active self-learning efforts, and is greatly driven by regular skills and high-class initiatives that emphasize collective commitment to adapt to rapidly changing work situations.
Integrating technology integration into the work stream is fundamentally a restructuring of the traditional role of employment. With AI being adopted across organizational capabilities, AI/ML and analytics continue to dominate as the most in-demand work family, while cybersecurity has surpassed the cloud to become the second most sought-after domain.
Top 5 Indemand duties roles include data scientists/analysts, AI/ML experts, cybersecurity specialists, cloud architects/engineers, and DevOps engineers. In response, HR leaders emphasized core technical skills, strong learning ideas, analytical thinking and problem-solving ability as key selection criteria. Meanwhile, the current and future workforce consider AI/Genai proficiency, creativity, communication and leadership skills important to success.
The adoption of Genai tools has seen a dramatic increase over the past year, evolving from a proof-of-concept experiment to a wide range of commercial applications. Today, the majority of the workforce is actively using Genai for a wide range of applications, including coding, programming, and content creation. Future workforce (students) use Genai, particularly for learning and development, seeking improvements in general knowledge, improved communication skills, guidance and advice, and exploring the vast capabilities of AI.
Furthermore, as organizations become increasingly data-driven, AI, analytics and the cloud are emerging as the “Holy Trinity” that drives this transformation. In conjunction with this shift, HR functions are gradually becoming technically compatible across the value chain. Companies leverage AI in various aspects of their recruitment and employment processes, including automating CV screening to identify the best candidates, generating accounts for gender-neutral jobs, enhancing knowledge sharing and learning initiatives, and streamlining candidate evaluations.

Technology companies need to implement policies and processes that not only align with changing dynamics, but also adapt to the ongoing evolution of the workforce situation.
The future of work remains primarily hybrid, but return to office has gained momentum, with average office times increasing by 1.2 times. Key factors for this shift include the need for stronger cultural connections, enhanced cross-team collaboration, improved employee engagement, increased leadership interactions, role-specific or customer-driven requirements, and the need for a more immersive learning experience.
