A significant proportion of Indian businesses believe the arrival of 5G will usher in a transformative era in the world of work, opening up rich opportunities for India’s tech talent pool, the report said. More than 80% of his respondents believe IT, banking and financial services will benefit from 5G technology in terms of job creation and upskilling, according to a report by staffing firm TeamLease Services.
Entitled ‘5G Rollout in India: Revolutionizing People’s Supply Chains’, the report is based on responses from more than 247 companies on the impact of 5G on the ecosystem and job creation.

According to the report, 5G deployment will have a significant impact on industries such as BFSI (60%), education (48%), gaming (48%) and retail and e-commerce (46%).
On a year-on-year basis, 46% of participants expect 61% to 80% of jobs to be created within the first year of 5G deployment.
“Promising growth opportunities exist for telcos adopting 5G solutions. We anticipate an increase in hiring for specialized roles,” said Narayan.
This advancement will create new opportunities and drive demand for roles such as technical content writers, networking engineers, AI/ML professionals, UX designers, cloud computing engineers, cybersecurity specialists, and data science and analytics professionals. He added.
However, the report notes that the telecommunications industry faces a sizeable 28 percent demand-supply gap, highlighting the urgent need for comprehensive upskilling and reskilling efforts. doing.
Encouragingly, 88% of employees said they would like to improve their skills, indicating a strong desire to enhance their existing skill sets, the report said.
He added that 11.2% of employees would like to reskill, creating a big opportunity for fresh talent in the job market.
The report also highlights the impact of 5G on job creation over the next few years, with 41% of respondents expecting 5G deployment to have an impact of 80% or more on job creation over the next three years.
According to Narayan, the imminent rollout of 5G is expected to increase tech jobs by 80%.
