5 AI apps for business you should try

Applications of AI

There is a lot of hype around AI and countless products that promise to change the world and your life at the push of a button.

That's fine, but we have a company to run. So what’s the reality for your business right now?

In my opinion, many of these apps are not ready for prime time. For example, the possibilities for text-to-image conversion and text-to-video conversion are exciting, but at the moment these apps are in their infancy, and the images and videos produced both look and feel like they were generated. Masu. Most apps that promise “productivity” and “automation” simply do what ChatGPT does for free (version 3.5) or for a small fee ($20/month for the ChatGPT Plus version).

However, there are a growing number of reliable and legitimate AI tools that can help improve business productivity. I have listed five below. Please be aware that there are many competitors in each category. We use these five applications as examples for specific business use cases. Also, did you know that some people are addicted to ChatGPT? With so many competitors, no one knows how many of them will emerge within a year. That being said, I recommend these applications to clients who want to step into the world of AI, not just for fun, but to help run their business.

headshot generator

These are applications that use AI to organize your existing photos and make them clearer, more professional, and more suitable for business use. Apps like ProfilePicMaker also allow you to take a quick selfie, remove or replace the background, touch up your skin, and even change the clothes you're wearing. Business owners can use the final product on their website, social pages, and other marketing materials. The same goes for employees. It's cheaper and faster than hiring a professional photographer.

chatbot builder

AI-based chatbot builders like Droxy.ai create a knowledge base of information that employees can search through conversations and publish on websites. For example, you can upload your entire website, videos you created for training or product demonstrations, and PDFs of specifications, quotes, proposals, instructions, and contracts. Yes, you need to lift a little heavier before. However, once you upload it, you will be able to ask questions about the information, just like you can with ChatGPT. However, the answer comes from your information. As the chatbot is trained, the quality of its questions will improve. Unfortunately, these applications don't yet allow you to upload actual data from accounting, CRM, or HR systems, but that time is coming soon.

automation tools

Products like Zapier, Workato, and Make have been around for a while. But now they're all using AI to enhance their games. These products can connect to hundreds of existing accounting, collaboration, CRM, and project management applications, and users can set triggers to automatically launch tasks. For example: “Automatically send an email to a customer when an invoice is older than 30 days,” “Send a rejection letter to a candidate when a field in the database is changed to Reject,” or ” Our system implements these onboarding tasks when a new employee is confirmed. ” These tools are powerful, require little programming experience, and can span multiple applications, giving you a one-stop shop for building automation that doesn't rely on the functionality of a single software product.

website builder

There are many established website platforms such as Wix, Squarespace, and GoDaddy that make it easy to build a new site. But a new generation of AI-based builders like Mixo are taking things to a different level. With these tools, you or your employees enter a written description of the site you want, and the builder begins construction. It's conversational AI, so you can tell it to make changes, set up a domain, add security, etc. just like you're talking to a web designer. Soon, you'll be able to provide these instructions by voice instead of typing. For companies that want to set up a large number of sites and landing pages, these AI tools save a lot of time, and their quality continues to improve.

simple CRM

Some AI platforms, such as Durable, are taking the website building process to another level. This application does much of what a tool like Mixo does, but also provides basic accounting and CRM functionality such as invoicing, lead generation, and automated email sending. It also has an “AI assistant” that can answer and research questions like ChatGPT (is it ChatGPT behind the scenes?) and the ability to write blogs based on information from websites and other sources. This is a great tool to try for very small businesses that want to get up and running online quickly and be able to generate leads and issue invoices.

Most of the applications that provide these business processes offer some level of free access, all at a nominal price. And yes, as I mentioned above, many are young startups, and for all I know, may not even be born in a year or so. However, there is little risk in trying them out. It doesn't store data, it just accesses it. The key is to take the time, or ask your employees to take the time. All of these tools, when used properly, can lead to significant cost savings and productivity gains. Ignoring them is not good business.
