100ASK-V853-Pro – Feature-rich Allwinner V853 board designed for AI vision applications

Applications of AI

The 100ASK-V853-Pro board is a development kit consisting of the Allwinner V853 system-on-module board (SoM) and a feature-rich carrier board with numerous interfaces. Allwinner V853 supports up to 1TOPS NPU computing power, mainly for AI vision application development.

The core board contains DDR and eMMC and PMU chips (AXP2101) and is connected to the carrier board via board-to-board connectors. All functional resources of V853 are brought out through the carrier board. The carrier board comes with a 2-channel CSI camera interface and RGB and MIPI DSI display interfaces. 1 TOPS AI computing power is not outstanding, but NPUs can be used to accelerate AI vision applications at the edge. The board also features 4 USB 2.0 ports (2 Type-A, 2 Type-C), a 100Mbps Ethernet port, a 22-pin header for expansion, and 5 programmable user buttons.

Rich peripheral interfaces make this development board suitable for camera-related projects. Currently, the V853 SoC supports Allwinner’s official Tina Linux system, but the developer of the Allwinner V851s/V851se board (GLGH_) also ported his Debian GNU/Linux to his V853, allowing another non-Tina Linux We offer options. Support is available through the official forum (Chinese). There is also a tutorial on getting started with the 100ASK-V853-Pro development board and how to use the RGB and MIPI displays.

This development board is not yet available outside of China, but will eventually be sold on the DongshanPI store on Aliexpress. Currently, only the 512MB DDR version of SoMsold is available on Taobao with 8GB eMMC flash for 99 RMB (about $14), It retails for 129 RMB (about $18) with 32GB eMMC flash. At 449 RMB (about $65), you can get a complete kit including Allwinner V853 core board (8GB) and carrier board. The 32GB kit is priced at 499 RMB (about $72).
