On December 18, 2025, a young Hindu man, Deep Chandra Das, was lynched and his body burnt in the Mymensingh district of Bangladesh following rumors of blasphemy. Police and the Rapid Action Battalion later said there was no evidence to support the charge. Several suspects were arrested, and the incident was widely condemned as an act of gang violence (here, here, and here). Amid this situation, videos (here, here, here and here) of a Hindu man standing in front of a burning building, pleading for help and claiming that he too will be killed like Deep Chandra Das, have gone viral on social media. Let's find out the truth behind this video.

Claim: This video shows a Bangladeshi Hindu man explaining the tense situation in the country and asking for protection.

fact: This video is not real and is generated using artificial intelligence (AI). The source of this video was traced back to a digital content creation account, and an AI detection tool confirmed that the video was generated by AI. Therefore, the argument is that error

To verify this claim, we conducted a keyword search to see if any such incident took place in Bangladesh, but we did not find any reliable reports to support the claim. I then performed a reverse image search and found the same video uploaded on December 24, 2025 under the Instagram handle. Tarobikuru Deep. The account profile clearly states that the page owner is a digital creator, indicating that the video was created digitally. To further support this, we found several similar AI-generated videos posted to the same account (here, here, and here).

To verify whether the video was digitally created using AI, we analyzed it using AI detection tools such as Hive and Deepfake-o-meter. Both tools flagged videos as AI-generated, confirming that they were digitally created and not actual incidents.

To summarize, this video of a Bangladeshi Hindu man seeking protection was generated by AI.
