Role description:
We are looking for a Palantir Foundry Engineer to join our growing team. As part of our new Group Data Strategy, Data Lake Operations team, you will impact our Healthcare, Life Sciences and Performance Materials businesses. Together, we build solutions that enable seamless, scalable omnichannel experiences for multi-billion dollar enterprises. In addition, you will work closely with the organization. Data offices empower data scientists, data engineers, and business users to harness the power of data to maintain data lakes and data platforms.
Primary Responsibilities –
We design, build, test and deploy cutting-edge solutions at scale, impacting millions of customers around the world, and drive value from data at scale.
Identify, design and implement internal process improvements. That means automating manual processes, optimizing data lakes, and redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability. Optimizing data lakes, automating manual tasks, enhancing security, and monitoring data pipelines are our main areas of focus.
Collaborate with our geographically distributed engineering teams to leverage their expertise and contribute to the technology community.
We work with project management and the business to harness the power of data to drive agendas, set priorities, and deliver solutions.
Flexible support for project issues on weekends and after working hours.
job requirements
- 8+ years of relevant experience as an engineer and IT infrastructure deployment in cloud (and on-premises) environments
- Experience as an AWS Cloud Engineer including EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM, Security Groups, Sagemaker, Glue, CloudTrail, Route53, Lambdas, Networking.
- Deep expertise in Azure Dev Ops, experience with infrastructure as code, Linux containers and Kubernetes.
- Build all aspects of the code lifecycle, including CI/CD pipeline design and implementation, deployment, and operational concerns.
- Ability to provision infrastructure on AWS using automated scripts including (but not limited to) S3 buckets, cloud formations, EC2 machines, databases, SNS, AWS lambda services, etc.
- Experience and knowledge of key AWS services engineered frameworks, control towers and landing zones, networking, especially transit gateways, and inspection VPCs with L7 firewalls.
- Familiarity with AWS RBAC and delegated permissions
- Strong system administration experience including Unix/Linux OS installation/hardening/patching, networking, firewalls, load balancers, SSO, DNS, etc.
- Deep AWS Cloud experience across IaaS and PaaS services including Compute, Storage, Networking, Containers, Serverless, Data, Analytics, IoT, AI/ML, Media, DevOps, AWS Migration and Modernization related services.
- Experience with hybrid and private clouds, architectures and design patterns. General knowledge of OS, middleware, databases, NoSQL, ESB, integrations, APIs, web services, REST.
- Team player, ability to work with virtual teams
- AWS certifications and work experience in regulated environments, GxP, banking, pharmaceutical, etc. preferred.
