The call comes amid growing concern over the misuse of AI-generated images and videos to bully, threaten or slander an individual online. Officials are also concerned that political supporters will be able to resort to AI manipulation on social media as the 17th State Election (PRN) approaches. Tawau District Police Chief ACP Jasmine Fussin said police are aware of these new threats and are closely monitoring the misuse of technologies that could disrupt the public order. “We recognize that irresponsible parties now have a variety of tools, including AI that can be used to humiliate or provoke others.
