If you've been wanting to test out the AI video creation capabilities of Google Veo 3, but you don't have the funds to grow into your Google AI Pro (or Ultra) subscription, now Google offers all Gemini users the Veo 3 engine flavor.
According to a Google Gemini app post on social media (via 9to5 Google), free users will be able to get three VEO 3 video generations this weekend without paying anything. Offer will last until 10pm on Sundays (1am on Mondays (ET/6am/3pm).

I've written extensively about what you can do with Veo 3 with Gemini. One trick you can try is to turn still images into video. Explain what you want to happen in the photo. After a few minutes of thought, Veo 3 does the rest.
Of course, you can start from scratch. Make sure you have as detailed as possible at the prompts and specify what's going on in the scene, how the characters should move, the video style, camera placement, and more.
Clips created with VEO 3, limited to 8 seconds, also come with sound. You might want to give some instructions here too. Otherwise, the video generator will fill the silence with the general one.
