This is a candid essay based on an interview with 20-year-old content creator Morgan Young. She says artificial intelligence tools help her brainstorm ideas and pitch them to brands.

Interviews have been slightly edited for length and clarity.

I’m a student, an intern at an entertainment company, and a content creator. I use generative AI for all these roles, but I find ChatGPT and chatbots to be the most helpful.

I started using ChatGPT within 3 days after it came out. I am proud to be one of the early adopters.

I learned about ChatGPT from AI creators on Reddit, TikTok, and LinkedIn. Then, as the technology grew in popularity, I started reading articles and experimenting myself to get a better understanding of how to use it in my work.

Now I use it every day to outsource certain tasks. However, while it helps cover some of the things on your to-do list, it doesn’t necessarily help you get the job done faster. For me, the biggest advantage of using tools like AI isn’t the massive time savings. Instead, it’s about making the final product better.

AI speeds up the process of researching and pitching to brands

LinkedIn is my primary platform where I post content about Gen Z, college, and career growth. I’m a top voice on LinkedIn with over 14,000 followers. ChatGPT helps you create a lot of content and build your online brand.

I use it a lot for tasks like brainstorming and research.

The questions you ask when surveying are completely subjective, so it’s hard to tell if the answers your chatbot gives are correct. But I’ve found that the more specific your prompts are and the more context you provide, the more useful and relevant your answers will be. So my requests are usually her two paragraphs long with as much information as possible. However, we never disclose confidential information.

We also started using it to improve our brand partnership activities.

As a creator, I am responsible for creating pitches to send to brands I want to work with and communicating with them throughout the process. However, I am not very good at writing business documents, such as drafting contracts and using formal business language, so it helped me to improve those skills and be seen as a professional.

By experimenting, we are leveraging and learning from the suggestions that the AI provides. Learning through experimentation has made me a better business person and improved the professionalism of my brand.

AI boosts my creativity and helps break down writer’s roadblocks

Content on LinkedIn is mostly written, so people ask me all the time, “Are you using gen AI to write your content?” The answer is no. ”

But I use it to generate ideas. Writer’s block days are almost gone, thanks to AI, which allows me to come up with ideas I otherwise wouldn’t have, especially headlines and hooks.

I once experimented with the same post to see if the hooks that I thought of and the hooks that the generated AI thought performed better, and the hooks that the generated AI created performed better.

Plus, my headlines used to be in the form of email subject lines, simple and easy. But when I recently posted a post about “Summer Internships 2023,” I used generative AI to present the headlines as questions and as attention-grabbing statements, so you could see which one you liked best. I made it

AI is certainly effective in using keywords and buzzwords to make content more catchy. This helps because my brain doesn’t always work that way.

However, anything generated using AI will need to be heavily edited. My content works because people enjoy my sassy, unfiltered Gen Z voice of hers. That’s something you don’t get from AI.
