MANILA, Philippines – The Ministry of Education (DEPED) on Sunday uncovered an artificial intelligence (AI)-generated video posted by a Facebook page that incorrectly announces the suspension of classes on Monday, July 28th.
In the advisory, Deped posted a screenshot of a female newscaster generated by AI, announcing a Monday class pause with a background image called “Sona.” [State of the Nation Address] Warampa Soqua Advisory. ”

“The FB page's circular AI video on class suspension tomorrow, July 28th, is fake news,” Deped said in a statement written in the Philippines.
The agency reminded the public to be vigilant against all kinds of misinformation and advised them to rely on DePED's official social media accounts for announcements on basic education.

Classes at all levels in Quezon City public and private schools have been suspended along Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s fourth Sona on Monday, July 28th, according to the Quezon City Government.
The suspension of classes is intended to encourage President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to listen to the national speech, in line with Executive Order No. 10 of 2025 issued by Mayor Joy Belmonte.
