There’s a lot to fear in the artificial intelligence (AI) space these days, especially with ChatGPT, Google’s Bard, and Stability AI taking the world by storm. Many suggest that these conversational, generative, and other AI models will fundamentally change the way we live and work.
That may be true, but AI will not take our jobs or destroy our world. However, it’s a concern shared by his 37% of Americans. If AI can be embraced, humanity will be freed from repetitive mental labor, new professional doors will open, and human creativity will be unleashed. This massive technological advance will play a major role in facilitating human progress and economic growth.
Change the way you think about AI
AI is to the human mind what a steam engine is to the human body. People feared that innovations like the steam engine would replace them. Instead, productivity, the number of manufacturing jobs available, and wages increased dramatically, essentially creating a larger middle class.
The combination of man and machine is what makes us stronger. Research shows that 90% of today’s employees are engaged in repetitive and boring tasks. AI frees us from mindless work and makes our work more efficient.

We’ve never invented a successful technology that doesn’t make people stronger. The invention of the car allowed us to move faster (and stay dry when it rained). Thanks to mobile phones, we can talk to people thousands of miles away at the speed of light. Currently, 93% of Americans rely on Google AutoCorrect. As a non-native speaker, this early AI tool helped my English a lot and made me stronger.
Likewise, advances in AI will open up a whole new world for humanity. Google CEO Sundar Pichai said at the 2018 World Economic Forum: “AI is probably the most important thing humanity has ever tackled. I think it goes deeper than electricity or fire.” I understand. The time has come for us to embrace AI and achieve what was once thought impossible.
AI and the future of work
Historically, there has always been a “middle man” in the professional workplace. Now I’m thinking about the company that answered the phone and sent me a taxi. Uber and Lyft can now connect you to your driver without a middleman. Actors and singers have had to attend thousands of auditions to make a name for themselves in the industry. Now anyone can become famous on YouTube or his TikTok without going through the traditional review process. The same could happen with NFT — will we go to all these art galleries in the future?
All these examples lead me to argue that today’s technology will only allow the average American to reach new heights. It will be a great strength for us as professionals.
Dell Technologies predicts that 85% of jobs in 2030 have yet to be invented. As Deloitte points out, this means companies and their current workforce will need to move to a skills-based approach. That means you need to learn the skills to control AI and other technologies to stay agile, competitive, and prepare for your future career. Innovators recognize the benefits of these technologies in increasing efficiency, productivity and profitability.
We are already seeing the benefits. GPT-4 and ChatGPT are still new, but have already proven beneficial to code developers and bring mainstream AI to non-techies.
But the potential is much greater. First, imagine using a chatbot to reply to every work email, or read a long report and provide a summary of key takeaways. You don’t need to train people to do a specific task, but use an AI tool to do that task, such as creating a PowerPoint presentation, providing a quarterly analysis, or writing a research blog post or drafting a thesis. Imagine a world of training methods. discover. ChatGPT allows anyone to transform everyday words into professional documents spoken in the “language” of doctors, lawyers and marketers.
Meanwhile, Stability AI is disrupting filmmaking and the profession. Compositing backgrounds, faces, costumes, and other assets eliminates the need for crews to travel millions of dollars to New York City to shoot. Instead, New York City can be synthesized via AI. Imagine a world that produces game of thrones One of my favorite shows, this episode costs less than $20 million and can be done at your kitchen table instead.
AI will completely transform our education system and democratize previously hard-to-reach professions. The process of becoming a pro and professional work will be very different than it is today. As with the dramatic decline in cursive writing, the introduction of AI will one day eliminate the need to teach children how to spell, write essays, drive cars, and more. For example, mathematics will still be important, but the future professional skill will not be how to program computers. But how do we train a computer to arrive at the correct answer or result?
Possibilities of AI
As humans, we have always craved progress. We are where we are today because we are open-minded and have an innate learning-first attitude that allows us to learn and adapt to new situations and ways of life. AI enables a completely unmatched level of efficiency and proficiency. We must be open minded to the endless possibilities it could bring in the years to come. Yes, it will change the way we live and work. But fear not. It will happen in the most positive and profound way.
