“In addition to leveraging generic agents like ChatGpt's very impressive agents, we'll also be seeing a system where 10, 20 and 30 agents work together to work together to tackle truly complex tasks,” predicted Ashley. “I'm personally really excited about it. I think this is a place to see a breakthrough in science, physics on some of the world's most challenging issues in the coming years.”
Ashley was on the podcast after Openai launched the ChatGPT agent. This is a consumer-oriented implementation of Agent AI that allows you to perform complex tasks using your own inference. Agent AI has emerged as the next major iteration of broader technology, with Global Data Analysis outlines that “from building decisive workflows to implement learning, adapting, decisions, and performing complex tasks.” Similar to the launch of Generative AI's ChatGpt, Openai's launch of ChatGPT agents could significantly increase the profile of Agent AI in public consciousness.
“These general-purpose agents captured the imagination of consumers and the imagination of the times,” Ashley said. “What I'm definitely interested in is, as a consumer, in these agents and possibilities, I also really like to see professional agents. I think they have the ability to help them achieve truly meaningful uplift within the business environment.”
Among the use cases Ashley sees, companies are pricing estimates, markdown and promotion, sales and operational planning, scenario planning within the supply chain, and merchandising.
“I think all of the benefits of the core focus on speeding decisions, increased decision scalability and combined returns on investment,” he explained. “This means we are working with manufacturers, consumer packaging commodities companies and retailers around the world, and we are deploying the specialized agent capabilities currently being deployed, which could be within the manufacturing environment, agent systems for pricing estimates.
