Adobe has dropped a ton of AI news, so let's dive into what it means to you. First, the company is dropping a brand new Firefly AI mobile app for iPhone and Android. Download these apps for free now and use Firefly to create AI images and videos on the go. Additionally, the app comes with some free generation credits to experiment with Adobe AI.
Next, Adobe is expanding its roster of third-party AI partners to include six new models: IDEOMGOM, PIKA, LUMA and Runway. Google's latest AI models also participate in a lineup that includes the famous VEO 3 AI video generation model with native audio capabilities and Imagen 4 Text-to-Image model support. Finally, its mood board AI program, Firefly Boards, is usually available in beta in a few months.
Here's everything you need to know about the latest batch of Adobe Firefly AI updates. For more information, see What you need to know about your favorite AI image generators and AI video models.
Firefly AI for iOS and Android users
Adobe's Firefly mobile app allows you to access AI images and video features from your phone. Adobe saw a significant increase in mobile web usage by Adobe after Adobe launched its Firefly video feature in early 2025, making mobile apps feel like the next natural step.
Not all Firefly features are available at launch, but for now we know that these features include text to images, text, inter-image, generation filling, and generation extensions. You can download apps now from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
This app is free to download, but to use the app in person you will need an Adobe plan that includes Firefly. In the hopes of signing up for the full plan, Adobe offers 12 free Generation Fireflies credits (10 for images, 2 of the videos do not sway to many of each). So you can use them to see if Firefly is right for you.
Firefly plans start at $10 a month for 2,000 credits (about 20 videos), from which you increase your price and generational credits. Depending on your Adobe plan, you will have access to Firefly credits, so you can double check them first.
Six new AI models, including Adobe's Google, Runway and more
Adobe is also adding new external AI creative models to offer, such as IDEOMGOM, PIKA, LUMA and Runway images and video models. To model the entertainment giant, you may recognize the name Runway from your contract with Lionsgate. Ideographic, Pika and Luma are all other well-known AI creative services. Google's VEO 3 AI video generator is also participating, bringing the first sync AI audio capabilities along with Google's latest generation of AI image models.
This is the second batch of third-party models that Adobe has added to the platform. Earlier this spring, Adobe partnered with Openai, Google and Black Forest (the creator of Flux) to bring the corporate AI model to Adobe. What's unique about this is that all third-party models must agree to Adobe's AI policy. This will prevent all businesses from training their customers' content. It is standardized in all models offered through Adobe, even if individual companies do not have their own policies. This applies to the new models added today. For AIWary's professional creators who make up the majority of Adobe users, that's a bit of good news.
You will need a paid firefly plan to access the external model. Otherwise, you can just access the Adobe model. All AI models available from Adobe are:
- Adobe Firefly Image 3
- Adobe Firefly Image 4
- Adobe Firefly Image Ultra
- Flux 1.1 Pro
- Flux 1 kontext
- Google Image 3
- Openai's image generation model
- (New) Notation Record 3
- (New) Google Image 4
- (New) Gen-4 image of the runway
In the video you can use:
- Adobe Firefly Video
- Google Veo 2
- (New) Google Veo 3
- (New) luma ai ray 2
- (New) Pika Text to Video Generator

AI mood boards are boosted
Other Adobe updates include the general release of Firefly Boards, a mood board program that has been in beta since April. A mood board is an exercise that allows you to combine various elements such as colours and shapes to evoke a particular mood or aesthetic. This is a good first step to planning your content and campaign.
You can brainstorm and plan your content with endless canvas. You can use Adobe and non-Adobe models to generate images and videos on the board. The setup is very similar to generating with a normal firefly window. The board is collaborative, so you can edit it with multiple people. The new one-click arrangement buttons help you organize and visualize your files more easily. This is a much-required feature that came out of beta.
Firefly boards are synced with your Adobe account. So you can select a photo in the board and open it in Photoshop to edit it. These changes will sync with the Firefly Board within a minute, so you can always view the latest version of your file without having to be restricted to editing on the board.
