Adobe Firefly gets new AI video creation tools and models

Adobe announced a major update to its Firefly AI platform with new tools and other features for video creation. Chief among them is a full beta of the Firefly video editor, video upscaling capabilities, and enhancements to Firefly video and image generation for customers.

“Our goal with Adobe Firefly is to give you a single place to choose the right industry-leading models to generate assets for your projects, and then use the creative tools and controls that Firefly provides to edit those assets to get exactly what you want,” writes Mike Polner from Adobe. “Today, we're giving you new tools and features that give you even more control and choice over how you produce your videos.”

Here's a new feature.

Full beta version of Firefly AI video editor. Firefly AI Video Editor is a web-based video editing workspace that lets you create videos with generative AI and help edit them using natural language. It offers editing prompt controls, a standard timeline-based interface, sound effects and music, camera motion reference functionality, and further editing in the Premiere desktop app.

Video upscaling. Thanks to a partnership with Topaz Labs, Firefly users can access Astra AI models to upscale videos to full HD (1080p) or 4K.

Unlimited generations until January 15th. Adobe is expanding unlimited generations of Firefly video models and all Firefly and partner image models through January 15th. So if you have a Firefly Pro, Firefly Premium, 7,000 credits, or 50,000 credits plan, you have the next month to create as you like on compatible models, including Google Nano Banana Pro.
