Actor and Crime Patrol host Anup Soni recently became a victim of artificial intelligence (AI) abuse after an edited video of Crime Patrol went viral. The clip also includes an AI-cloned voice of Soni, which can be seen encouraging people to join a Telegram group, essentially encouraging them to gamble. Soni told IndiaToday.in that the video is completely fake and should be used as an example of a “scam alert”.

In a statement shared with IndiaTdoay.in, the actor said, “This is completely fake and we all need to be wary of how things can be manipulated. , and incorporates AI to duplicate some clips.'' Crime Patrol videos are edited and used to promote match betting on Telegram. This is a scam alert. ”

In the above clip, Anup's bites from Crime Patrol are edited and used in a viral video. As of this writing, the video had already garnered him 31 million views.

This isn't the first time an actor's voice or face has been misused by AI. Earlier, Ranveer Singh and Aamir Khan had issued statements about how their faces were deepfaked to support political parties. Later, a complaint was filed with the Cyber ​​Crime Cell of the Mumbai Police.
