Hippocrates AIGenerating AI companies that develop large-scale language models with a focus on safety for healthcare, are partnering with Adtalem Global Education to develop an academic curriculum to train and prove clinicians on the use of AI in healthcare.

Hippocratic AI will partner with Adtalem's Chamberlain University and Walden University to combine Adtalem's clinical knowledge with Hippocratic's technical know-how to collaborate on curriculum and certification programs that will help nurses understand how to understand how to use, integrate and supervise AI systems In healthcare.

“We're beginning to debate exactly what accreditation looks like, but it's a series of courses, a lectures people take, and there's accreditation at the end of it, but the exact details such as length are still being resolved,” Bimani said.
“Part of the core curriculum is a way to understand some of the downfalls and concerns about AI and generation AI, and to ensure that when assessing tools, they are addressed within the tools they are evaluating.”
The curriculum is designed with foundation modules and updated over time as AI technology progresses.
Bigger trends
Since its launch in 2023, Hippocratic AI has promoted its position as an organization focused on the responsible use of AI in healthcare, addressing the needs of nurses. Bimani said this will be done through close cooperation with the nursing community.
February, company We have launched the Nurse Advisory Council to ensure the safe development of LLM software. This will work closely with the Physician Advisory Council, which was launched six months ago.
“We have been working with the nursing community since day one. It's part of our DNA and it speaks essentially about our mission to improve patient care and patient outcomes,” Bimani said.
“Very early on, we decided we weren't going to build a product for healthcare. We were going to build it in healthcare. So from day one, we sought deep involvement from our partners (nurses and other clinicians) to help us build the right product.”
Partners hope that the curriculum and accreditation programs will be integrated into Chamberlain and Walden University in spring 2025.
