Apple's WWDC 2025 will launch in Cupertino, California on June 9th, bringing changes to the company's software products throughout next year.
At WWDC last year, Apple (AAPL) announced the Apple Intelligence AI platform. And while the showcase created some impressive technical demos, the company was unable to offer all of its flying promises.
There are still few indications when Apple will start deploying Siri with its generative AI. Also, the AI abilities it pushed out is not exactly blowing your mind off Wall Street or elsewhere. While this year's show could potentially give you more insight into Apple's AI plans, don't expect the kind of flashy announcement you saw last year.
Still, the company is planning to debut many new and interesting features for iOS, iPados, MacOS, Watchos and more. And there is always a possibility that Apple can wrap it out of new hardware.
Here's what you can expect from Apple's WWDC 2025:
According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Apple offers a welcome facelift for the most important software, updating iOS, iPados and MacO looks with a new design that retrieves pages from Visionos operating system in Vision Pro Headset.
Everything from icons and menus to apps has updates. Garman called iOS's biggest stylistic transformation since 2013 and MacOS's most extensive revisions and changes since 2020.
Front Page Tech's Jon Prosser has gotten the next version of iOS and posted a video on a YouTube page revealing new features when tapping on the app icon and the Restyled Camera app.
However, Apple doesn't just change the appearance of software products. Additionally, changing the naming conventions for the operating system have made Gurman consistent with the year after it was released. So instead of getting iOS 19 this year, I'll get iOS 26. It doesn't make a big difference for most users. Who knows the exact version of iOS you are using? -But it certainly is worth noting the change.
It will be interesting to see how Apple incorporates these updates into the next generation of iPhones. The company is reportedly going to debut a much slimmer iPhone 17 later this fall. This could help sell goose in China.
When you combine it with new software, the iPhone 17 starts to look like a much bigger upgrade than if you only got those hardware improvements.
Artificial intelligence may not be the star of the show like WWDC 2024, but that doesn't mean that Apple doesn't have any new AI features to offer.
According to Gurman, the company will also showcase the AI battery manager and AI-powered live translation capabilities of the AirPods. A battery manager, part of Apple Intelligence, understands how to use your iPhone and increases or decreases the output depending on what you're doing with your device.
Live AirPods translation allows users to understand people speaking in a variety of languages. Google (Goog, Google) already offers similar features with its own earphones.

However, if you want to have a conversation with someone in another language, you need to make sure you are wearing your AirPod.
Apple previously equipped the AirPods Pro with the ability to function as a commercial hearing aid.
According to Bloomberg, Apple is said to be setting the stage to open software, which is software that supports generative AI apps, to third-party developers. This move allows Apple's loyal developers to start working on AI-powered software that can be run directly on your iPhone, rather than running it through the cloud.
Apple is also reportedly working on a new centralized gaming app for devices that replace current arcade apps. The company has been steadily working to build the authenticity of the game to prove that the device is just as great a gaming system as a home console or PC.
Also, although Apple doesn't exist yet, it doesn't support as many traditional games as its competing platforms, it's one of the world's largest mobile gaming companies thanks to the App Store. Helping to integrate all of that into one app is beneficial for users and Apple.
