HO CHI MINH CITY – Vietnamese businesses want to implement artificial intelligence initiatives but lack the direction and operational processes needed to achieve optimal efficiency, according to a conference in Ho Chi Minh City on June 28.

The conference, titled “AI Solutions for Enterprises”, was held at Quang Trung Software City in District 12.

Tran Phuc Hong, vice chairman of the Vietnam IT Outsourcing Alliance (VNITO Alliance), said AI is a global trend that can help create breakthrough products, increase productivity and efficiency, and reduce costs.

He added that through this conference, enterprises can understand the process of applying AI and how it works, thus facilitating the adoption of AI solutions.

Pham Tuan Anh, from the Artificial Intelligence Centre of Vietnam's TMA Tech Group, said that although Vietnam has companies offering digital transformation and AI solutions and a large tech workforce, there are still challenges in commercialising and applying them in practice.

“To effectively apply AI solutions, enterprises need to define their goals and strategies, then select technologies that align with their business objectives to drive efficiency and derive maximum value from AI.

“Enterprises should first and foremost focus on digital transformation, data creation and management, as these are the key foundations for effective operation of AI models and sustainable long-term value.”

Hoàng Quang Hải, an expert in management system training and assessment at DNV Business Assurance Việt Nam, said it is important to have a quality management system that meets international standards such as ISO 42001.

This not only optimizes operational efficiency; It added that it will not only promote the gradual development and application of AI, but also protect enterprises from the risks associated with the use of AI.

The conference showcased 100 AI solutions by Vietnamese companies in areas including generative artificial intelligence, optical recognition technology, natural language processing, data analysis and prediction, and application software in education and training.

This was coordinated by the Digital Transformation Support and Consulting Center (DXCenter) and the VNITO Alliance. – VNS
