Motorola has officially announced that its next-generation clamshell foldable smartphones, the Motorola Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra, will be available in the US on June 25th. They will also be available in China on the same day. In the US, the Motorola Razr 50 will be launched as the Moto Razr 2024, while the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra will be launched as the Moto Razr+ 2024.
Recently, a leak has surfaced on the internet, revealing not only the price but also some key specifications of the Motorola Razr 2024 duo. As per the report, the Motorola Razr 2024 could be priced at 899 euros (approximately $965) for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model, while the Motorola Razr+ 2024 could be priced at 1,199 euros (approximately $1,287) for the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage option.
Now, ahead of its expected debut, X tipster MysteryLupin has shared a video showcasing the Moto Razr+ 2024 from every angle, also offering a glimpse at the telephoto camera and AI features expected to be included with the phone.
The leaked video shows off the Moto Razr+ 2024's cover display, which has slightly slimmer bezels compared to the Moto Razr+ 2023. The video mentions improved water resistance, referring to it as “underwater protected,” and a disclaimer at the bottom of the video states it's IPX8 rated; previous models were IP52 dust- and water-resistant.
So this year, you won't have any problems immersing your phone in water for a while – the Moto Razr+ 2024's advertised IPX8 rating matches that of Samsung's foldable phones.
The leaked video of the Moto Razr+ 2024 touches on the cameras, revealing that one of the dual camera setups will offer telephoto zoom. It is worth noting that the previous model also had a dual camera setup, but it featured a wide-angle camera and an ultra-wide camera setup. It remains to be seen how Moto Razr fans will react to the lack of an ultra-wide camera.
And of course, how can Motorola keep AI out of its smartphones in 2024? AI is mentioned in the leaked video, which touts the Moto Razr+ 2024's camera as being AI-powered. The device will also feature Moto AI, which has been present on international versions of previous Moto Razr models but will be a first for the US.
