Kling, developed by a Chinese company that rivals TikTok, is a new AI-powered video generation service. AI tools are becoming more and more sophisticated, and the next big leap seems to be in generating clips. OpenAI, the biggest player in the field, released Sora this year, and Kling wants to be its rival.
The name “Kuaishou” might not sound familiar to you. That's because it's known as “Kwai” outside of China. The service has established itself as TikTok's main rival in China. But now it wants to firmly enter the AI-powered video generation field. Kuaishou describes Kling as a “model for video generation.” Like other similar services, videos are generated based on text prompts.

People who have accessed the service, like Min Choi, have posted some of the videos generated, and the results are pretty impressive.

Those with access are already making AI videos and short films.

The Kling AI website includes several other examples of generated clips, but keep in mind that these clips may have been modified in some way. In the past, one of the videos generated by Sora was found to have taken many more hours to create. Nevertheless, the thread for X mentioned above also includes an example generated from a user prompt.
Currently, the Kling AI video generator is only available in China, and interested parties will need to join a waiting list. Currently, it can generate 1080p/30fps clips up to two minutes long.
The company hasn't said when the service will be available without a waiting list or outside of China, but TikTok's rival appears to have a powerful and promising video generation tool called Kling AI, and its main international rival, Sora, is due to be available later this year, according to Open AI.
