LUCKNOW: The UP Special Task Force (STF) on Thursday arrested a Noida man for creating an AI-generated deepfake video of CM Yogi Adityanath and uploading it on social media. The video was used to spread misleading facts and strengthen anti-national elements. Shyam Kishore Gupta, 48, who has only education up to Class 5, was arrested from his home in Shyam Lal Colony, Barora, Sector 49, Noida, by Additional SP, STF Raj Kumar. “The arrest was made after the creation and dissemination,” Mishra said. A deepfake video from May 1st that is said to be linked to the commercial. The video was posted on X under the account @shyamguptarpswa, causing confusion and anger among the people,” Mishra said. The 19-second video referred to the Pulwama attack, Mishra said. A case was filed against Gupta and during interrogation, he confessed to uploading the video to his X account.
