Pragya Misra, OpenAI's first employee in India, officially announced OpenAI on social media. Misra has now joined Sam Altman's AI company as head of public policy and partnerships. On her X, formerly known as She Twitter, she expressed her excitement to join the company and contribute to India's AI mission.
She said, “Excited to share that I have joined @OpenAI as India’s first hire to lead public policy and partnerships that advance OpenAI’s values of safety, transparency, and human-centered innovation. ” is written. Praya Misra, 39, whose experience includes Truecaller AB and Meta Platforms Inc. Before joining OpenAI, she has been working as Truecaller's public relations director since July 2021. Her role included working closely with government departments, key stakeholders, investors and media partners. Prior to joining Truecaller, she spearheaded WhatsApp's campaign against misinformation in 2018 and held positions at Ernst & Young and the Royal Danish Embassy in New Delhi.
In terms of education, she completed her MBA from International Institute of Management in 2012 and graduated in Commerce from Delhi University. She also holds a degree in Bargaining and Bargaining from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
In addition to his professional achievements, Misra is also an avid golfer and represented India in several international tournaments from 1998 to 2007. She is also a heartfulness meditation trainer and host of the Pragyan Her podcast.
OpenAI's decision to hire Misra is seen as a strategic move to increase its presence in the Indian technology market, which is facing competition from Google's AI models. Misra is expected to start working at OpenAI by the end of this month.
In other news, in February, OpenAI announced upgrades to its ChatGPT system, known as Memory. This feature allows ChatGPT to persist queries, prompts, and customized changes in a more persistent manner. Initially only available to some users, OpenAI is now extending memory availability to ChatGPT Plus subscribers outside of Europe or South Korea.
