Following the success of the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung is said to be already developing a new generation of S series smartphones, the Galaxy S25. Although the official launch is still a few months away, tipsters have managed to gather information about the upcoming Galaxy S25. A new report speculates that the Galaxy S25 may be powered by Google's next-generation AI model, Gemini Nano 2, and support on-device AI features.

According to a report from Daum Herald Economy, Cho Cheol-min, executive director of Samsung Electronics' System LSI Division, revealed at the Artificial Intelligence Semiconductor Forum that the Galaxy S25 series will use Google Nano version 2. To support Exynos' AI exploration, we will gradually double our on-device AI software development workforce over the next few years.

“We have started discussing how to implement version 2 of Google's Gemini Nano, which will be released in the future, into on-device AI,” Chulmin said.
However, discussions regarding upcoming AI features on the Galaxy S25 series are far from final. Google and Samsung's collaboration expands with the further integration of Gemini Nano into his Exynos processor to support on-device AI and generative AI capabilities. Now, Samsung is reportedly looking into whether the integration is possible and how it could up its AI game with the Galaxy S25.
Google is expected to announce its second generation AI model for smartphones near the launch of Pixel 9. So we have to wait and see what happens.
We previously reported that the Samsung Galaxy S25 will support two powerful processors: the Exynos 2500 processor with Google's Tensor Processing Unit (TPU). This new rumor therefore coincides with collaborative efforts to achieve advanced AI capabilities. Apart from its AI efforts, the company also plans to expand its headcount to develop on-device AI capabilities. It is speculated that Samsung will double the number of employees in its integral divisions Exynos AI Studio and Exynos AI Stack.
